Local Tax Legislation Research Institute: faster, more accurate local tax law work with AI
Background
Local tax work often can’t be decided on a single legal provision. Staff need to look at the law, its enforcement decree, and its enforcement rules together, and then bring in interpretation cases and court rulings as well. Even similar matters can reach different conclusions depending on the issue, so comparing multiple cases is essential.
With a broad review scope and a repetitive process, keyword search had clear limits. It was hard both to find every relevant material and to organize it around the key issues.
The Local Tax Legislation Research Institute wanted a support system that follows how staff actually work, flowing naturally from research to comparison and organization to drafting. As a public institution, it also required a setup that could be used securely on its internal network.
Platform overview
The platform was designed to bring together the institute’s laws, interpretation cases, court rulings, and Q&A replies so they can be used within a single system.
It goes beyond collecting and searching material. It presents related provisions together, links similar cases, and organizes the evidence needed for review through to the draft. Staff spend less time on repetitive material gathering and can focus more on the quality of their judgment and review.
