The Jeju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation announced that it has selected six startups through the 2025 AI Collabo Open Ground program, an industry-specific open innovation program run with DB Insurance, Chokwang Paint and Hana Bank, and will pursue practical commercialization through technology testing and solution development.
The program took shape in June, when the center and the corporate partners identified key themes and shared challenges in the AI industry. Challenges were set for each partner’s industry (insurance, building materials and finance), and the final selections were confirmed after offline meetups and ongoing meetings.
DB Insurance will work with two startups on mobile-optimized conversion and summarization of PC document files and on large-scale data de-identification and GPT use. Chokwang Paint will collaborate with The Miracle Soft and Cogniterm Inc. to develop programs that use AI-based LLMs and vision models to diagnose exterior wall problems, recommend similar cases, manage product quality and extract data. Hana Bank’s projects cover AI-driven customer insight analysis, hyper-personalized services and an AI agent to assist with investment product review and due diligence.
The selected startups will carry out technology tests and program development with their partners through December. Depending on the results, follow-on opportunities such as purchase contracts, investment and global expansion are expected, along with support including PoC funding, accelerating programs, links to global open innovation and workations in Jeju. The center said it sees the program as a first model for working with partners across industry lines under the common theme of AI, laying a foundation for a broader AI ecosystem.
