AI agents now read public documents too: Cogniterm's DocuRAG powers MOFE hackathon projects

The MOFE generative AI service discovery hackathon.
The following is an English summary of the original Korean article.
Cogniterm’s AI agent platform DocuRAG was used to build document-based RAG AI agent projects at the generative AI hackathon of the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE).
MOFE held the “MOFE Generative AI Service Discovery Hackathon” from June 10 to 12 to find generative AI services for its key administrative work. Participants built prototypes of everyday administrative AI services, using DocuRAG for document-based search, summarization, answer generation and task-specific agents.
The main DocuRAG projects were the “Routine Audit Review Opinion Drafting Automation Service,” selected as an outstanding project, and four department-specific AI assistants. The audit service lays out key review points from audit documents and criteria and helps draft opinions, speeding up evidence checks in repetitive review work. The assistants search, summarize and organize each department’s documents, guidelines and work data, for tasks such as interpreting the State Contracts Act or supporting tax law amendments.
Instead of one general-purpose chatbot, each assistant reflects its department’s context and internal materials, with RAG chosen because evidence and context in documents are central to public-sector work. With only three days, the team needed a platform that quickly connects document registration, search, answer generation and agent setup, and DocuRAG delivered practical agents on administrative data within that window.
“The key to AI transformation in the public sector is not simply using generative AI, but securely connecting the documents and data an institution holds to build AI agents that work within real workflows,” said CEO Jwayeon Jeong of Cogniterm. He added that the event mattered because MOFE staff defined the problems themselves and saw what RAG-based agents can do for administrative work.
CEO Jeong also noted that DocuRAG is being applied to build MOFE’s AI-ONE platform, providing evidence-grounded search, summarization, review, classification and drafting, and that Cogniterm will keep improving how quickly task-specific agents can be built to support public institutions’ AX transition, as it helps public institutions and enterprises adopt document search, work automation and generative AI centered on DocuRAG.
