Cogniterm presents the 'DocuRAG Investigation AI Agent' for investigative work at KPEX 2026

From October 21 to 24, Cogniterm took part in Korea Police World Expo 2026 (KPEX 2026), held at Songdo Convensia in Incheon, where it presented the ‘DocuRAG Investigation AI Agent’, an AI agent built for investigative work. At its booth in the AI Startup Pavilion, the company showed on site how case materials such as paper interview records and interview recordings become privacy-protected ‘AI-Ready Data’.
DocuRAG Key Message
Case materials vary in format and security level.
Read, listen and mask them into data AI can use
Documents are converted to text with AI OCR and interview recordings with speaker-separated STT, then personal and sensitive information is detected and pseudonymized to produce AI-Ready Data. On top of that organized data, task-specific agents make investigative review more efficient.
01 Read · AI OCR
Recognizes paper records, scans, handwritten statements and images in different formats, and turns them into electronic documents that keep their tables and layout.
02 Listen · Speaker-separated STT
Transcribes interview recordings and separates them by speaker, cutting the time spent writing transcripts by hand.
03 Mask · De-identification of personal and sensitive information
Detects and pseudonymizes personal and sensitive information such as names, resident registration numbers and phone numbers in documents and transcripts. The same person always gets the same pseudonym, so relationships in a case can still be analyzed after masking.
Presenting AI built for investigative work, in person
At KPEX 2026, Cogniterm presented the DocuRAG Investigation AI Agent to police and investigative agency officials and to people from the public safety and security industry. Rather than search or summary results, this exhibition focused on the process itself: how raw materials become AI-Ready Data. Live demos showed unstructured materials turning into electronic documents through AI OCR, and the personal and sensitive information inside them being masked automatically.
Case materials in the field come in many forms, from paper and scans to handwritten statements, interview recordings and scene photos, and nearly every page contains personal and sensitive information. That is why attempts to analyze them with AI often stall at the start over security concerns. DocuRAG solves this by converting them into ‘AI-Ready Data’. Since materials only become data AI can read and analyze after text conversion and de-identification, de-identification is not a compliance cost but a precondition for using AI. Even in on-premises or air-gapped deployments, some information must not leak even within the same organization, so DocuRAG is designed to protect personal and sensitive information throughout the entire AI workflow.
Key agents presented at the exhibition
Investigation AI Agent
Converts records, scans and images to text with AI OCR and interview recordings with speaker-separated STT, then pseudonymizes personal information to create AI-Ready Data.
Personal Information Filtering Agent
Before materials are shared or passed to AI, it automatically detects, masks and pseudonymizes personal and sensitive information in documents, images and transcripts, and keeps a processing log for audits.
Investigation and Review Issue Mapping Agent
Structures facts that used to be compiled by cross-checking materials one by one into claims and issues, so key review points can be identified quickly.
Integrated Law and Regulation Search Agent
Describe the situation of a case and it finds relevant laws, regulations, precedents and similar cases at once, with context-appropriate evidence and its sources.
DocuRAG is an AI agent platform on which these agents can be configured for each task without separate development. Beyond investigation support, it extends to many areas of public work such as legal, finance, investigation and review, and when work changes, agents can be added or modified without rebuilding the system. It supports on-premises and air-gapped environments, and can connect to external AI models approved under an organization’s security policy. Besides adopting the whole platform or individual modules, organizations can also take only specific functions such as AI OCR, speaker-separated STT or de-identification as APIs and connect them to their existing systems.
Supplying DocuRAG modules to the Korean National Police Agency
Recognized for the stability and quality of this technology, Cogniterm signed a contract to supply DocuRAG modules to the Korean National Police Agency. Among each module’s functions, it supplies DocuLLM’s AI OCR and DocuSafety’s detection and de-identification of personal and sensitive information. The deal is significant in that the technology is being adopted by an investigative agency that must manage personal and sensitive information strictly.
Cogniterm has built systems for central government ministries and public institutions, including the Ministry of Finance and Economy’s AI-ONE platform, the Tax Tribunal and the Korea Institute of Local Finance, and holds CSAP SaaS Standard certification, the security standard for cloud adoption in the public sector, as well as GS Certification Grade 1, the highest grade for software quality. Public institutions can adopt DocuRAG through the Public Procurement Service’s Digital Service Mall, the on-premises version under a third-party unit-price contract and the CSAP-certified DocuRAG SaaS under a catalog contract, while private companies can contract directly with Cogniterm without a procurement process.
Toward document AI that investigators can trust
The exhibition confirmed once again that the first challenge in using AI for investigative work is not model performance, but safely turning materials that vary in format and are dense with personal information into a state AI can use. Judgment belongs to the investigator; AI takes on the work of reading, listening, masking, finding and organizing the materials that judgment needs.
Cogniterm will keep advancing AI agents built for document work in investigation and other public sectors, creating an AI work environment that practitioners can trust and use.
